01Getting startedCreate your first widget+
Open the Widget Library, choose a widget and select Add widget. You can then customise it in Studio before copying its browser-source URL.
02OBSAdd a widget to OBS+
In OBS Sources, select + and choose Browser. Paste the private URL from Streamwidgets. Start with 800 × 220 for standard widgets, or use the dimensions shown for a custom widget.
03OBSKeep the background transparent+
Streamwidgets overlays are transparent by default. Remove any custom CSS background from the page body and avoid adding an OBS custom CSS background colour.
04TwitchEnable every Twitch event+
Open Account settings and reconnect Twitch if subscriptions, Bits, chat or Channel Points show as missing. Reconnecting updates permissions without deleting widgets.
05TwitchTest a stream alert+
Open the alert in Studio and use the test buttons for follows, subscriptions, gifts, bits or raids. Keep the overlay preview or OBS source open to see the result.
06TwitchUse Chat Highlight+
Create a Chat Highlight widget, reconnect Twitch once if prompted, then choose a recent message in Studio. Select Clear overlay when you want to hide it. Streamwidgets never sends or moderates chat messages.
07YouTubeConnect a YouTube channel+
Open Account settings and select Connect YouTube. Choose the Google account that owns your channel. Streamwidgets requests read-only access and cannot upload, edit or delete videos.
08YouTubeUse YouTube chat in OBS+
Create a compatible Live Chat Box, select YouTube as its platform and paste the private browser-source URL into OBS. Streamwidgets detects an active broadcast and receives its live chat automatically.
09YouTubeTest community alerts+
Create a YouTube Community Alert and use its Studio test controls to preview Super Chats, Super Stickers, memberships, milestones and gifted memberships without a real payment.
10WidgetsA browser-source URL was exposed+
Open My Overlays, choose the widget menu and select Generate new URL. The old URL stops working immediately, so remember to replace it in OBS.
11WidgetsA widget is paused+
My Overlays explains the cause. Platform widgets may need a connection or updated permissions. Advanced widgets pause when Pro access ends.
12Custom widgetsCustom code security limits+
Custom HTML, CSS and JavaScript runs inside an isolated sandbox. HTTPS images and media work, while account access, forms, popups and direct API requests are blocked.
13BillingManage or cancel Pro+
Open Plans & billing and select Manage billing. Stripe handles card changes, invoices and cancellation. Pro remains active until the end of a paid billing period.
14BillingRedeem complimentary access+
Open Plans & billing, enter the voucher code under Complimentary access and select Redeem. Vouchers can grant one month, one year or lifetime Pro.
15AccountRecover account access+
Use Forgot password on the login page. Twitch-only accounts can also add a recovery password from Account settings before disconnecting Twitch.
16TroubleshootingRefresh an OBS browser source+
Open the Browser source properties and select Refresh cache of current page. Confirm the URL still matches My Overlays and that the source is visible in the current scene.
